Chris was invited to be a keynote speaker at a Women Empowering Defence event at Amazon’s headquarters on the 7th March 2024.
Women Empowering Defence stands as a beacon of solidarity and empowerment. They are a collective force, uniting individuals across the Defence and Security Sector, with a shared mission to champion gender equality and celebrate the diverse achievements of women.
Their organisation is built on the foundation of mutual respect, inclusivity, and a steadfast commitment to breaking down barriers. They aim to challenge biases, to shine a light on the accomplishments of women in our sector, and to inspire meaningful change. They believe in the power of celebration, the strength of diversity, and the potential of every individual.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, Chris invited three inspiring people alongside him and asked if they could tell their individual stories to a room of approximately 200 people. These were Yvonne Harrison from Women in Football, Adam Maxted who is a professional wrestler and Safiyya Vorajee who is an author of one of the Sunday Times Best Sellers, Loving and Losing You, Azaylia: My Inspirational Daughter and our Unbreakable Bond.
It was a fantastic and insightful day and Chris felt privileged to be invited to such an inspiring event to celebrate each and every woman.
